IDTODAY NEWS – Hadirnya Jenderal (purn) Gatot Nurmantyo di dalam Koalisi Aksi Menyelamatkan Indonesia (KAMI) dinilai sangat strategis. Dia menjadi salah satu pemegang kendali bersama dengan mantan Ketua Umum Muhammadiyah Din Syamsuddin.
Melansir dari media nasional, pengamat politik Adi Prayitno menilai Gatot Nurmantyo berpeluang besar untuk menjadi calon presiden (Capres) pada Pilpres 2024 nanti.
Dia mengatakan, Gatot akan mendulang dukungan dari masyarakat, asalkan sesuai syarat undang-undang.
“Saya kira mungkin saja begitu (Gatot mencoba peruntungan maju sebagai calon presiden di Pemilihan Presiden 2024),” kata Adi, Rabu (19/8/2020).
Hadirnya Gatot dalam KAMI akan memperkuat posisinya, sebab pada Pilpres 2019 saja namanya sudah masuk dalam bursa Capres dan banyak para relawan yang mendukungnya.
Meski peluang Gatot terbuka, dosen di Universitas Islam Negeri Syarief Hidayatullah Jakarta ini menilai kemungkinan tersebut sangat kecil. Pasalnya, Gatot bukan merupakan tokoh partai politik.
Sementara menurut aturan yang berlaku, untuk dapat maju sebagai calon presiden maupun calon wakil presiden harus diusung oleh partai politik. padahal KAMI bukanlah sebuah partai poltik. Sehingga tidak memiliki legitimasi untuk mengusung pasangan capres-cawapres nantinya.
“Problemnya kan KAMI tak bisa dijadikan kendaraan politik. Kalau mau nyapres harus punya dukungan parpol untuk menggenapi 20 persen ambang batas presiden. Organisasi macam KAMI tak bisa mencapreskan orang, jadi wajib parpol,” tutup Adi Prayitno.
